where do you fish for pike?i know loch awe and loch lomond are good place for pike fishing. the pike i caught at loch tay took me 45mins to land my arms were sore at the end.it put up a great fight but would not want to hook to many of those in a days fishing.

if you mean should people fish for pike i would say yes it is how i got started i have fished for pike at the forth and clyde where i got jack pike.caught a 11lb plus at loch tay while fishing for troot every time me and my friends go to loch tay someone puts out dead bait for pike.most of the time we dont get anything but sometimes we get a pike or two like this(goto my thread in general chat"loch tay")not the biggest we have caught but still a good fish.

one fish caught in five d........ « Result #15 on Sept 22, 2009, 10:17am »
read in one of the sunday papers that fishing for five days 8hrs a day, out of the 154 anglers fishing the european sea fishing championship in orkney only one fish was caught. was that just unlucky or is there something very wrong with our fish stocks in scotland?

well it was only nine men in a boat.the sea fishin trip tae dunbar didnt start well when we tried tae leave the harbour the rudder conked oot took the skipper half an hour tae get it sorted. took about ten mins tae get the the first fishin stop after about 20 mins one of the boys got a good sized mackie then nothin for about 45 mins.wont bore ye wae all the details,we went tae about 8 or 9 drifts and caught about 15 fish cod mackies and a wrasse. out of the nine of us seven got fish and two got nothing and guess what, i was one of the two that got nuthin. as we were staying till sunday we went into town for few beers, there are a few good pubs for such a wee place.we ended back at the hotel about 11.30 where two of me pals got the guitars oot and we had a sing song in the bar and we (including the locals) had a guid time.

hello anonymous coward. dont know much about the carron but i think it all comes down to money.you could contact the "stenhousemuir angling club"they manage the river(sorry dont know thier address)the fishing shops in falkirk should know how to contact them.
i know.
it would be good if they would apply for a lottery grant or something tae get the fanky weir done.
i think even starting to get the carron dam done would take a national campaign and alot of persuading toward MPs, Carron Valley Fishery and the water board.
