finger burn

does anybody get a finger burn when retrieving the fly line?
i got one on sunday at rosslynlee.does anybody know how tae stop this,without buying a "strip guard" from the shop(as seen in this months trout fisherman)

not really a know jock gets it sometimes,maybe a more relaxed hold and more of a curve on the finger or you could put a thin plaster on the crease of the finger,so less chance of a friction burn

I holding on to them double figure fish, can causes it when they run, ;D
Bloody sore wee man, try and catch smaller fish that seems to help

double figure fish,if only, i would play a big fish from the reel.tried a plaster bobo,it gets wet and just falls off.
this is the kind of thing i have found.
