well its the end of the broonie season for another year.i did`nt get out as much this season, went to loch awe,tay a few times as per usual.most of the fish caught were rainbows(that the balif said that we were to kill)which i understand.most of the broonies we caught were small ones(we put them back maybe keep the odd biggie) that proves that the broonies are still there.but if the nummties keep cutting the nets year after year. god knows how long the broonies have left. years ago it was broonies and char we used to catch most off, how things have changed. can someone tell me why you have to put back broonies at some fisheries, rosslynlee have started to do this now.

Was not out much this season at all Neilson, but my Brown trout returns were higher than my rainbows this year. Was at two fisheries and the least said about the last trip the better, The return brown trout policy is some kind of good will nature stance they have all picked up on, but most of the population of these stocked browns are tripoloids just like the stocked Rainbows, so you have got me on that one, anybody care to take a guess. There is too many coconuts running fisheries now for the sole reason of getting round planing permission laws to build house and all sorts on green belt areas. The fact is these places are not even under any governing body and can do what they like. Stock what they want and make the rules up as they like. Am sticking to rivers and lochs from now on with a few exceptions on the fishery front.
Get yourself down the River Carron their is a good run of Salmon at the moment going by reports and the biggest this year so far a 14lb. Think it was in the Denny area.
