SwanswaterA local water for the tight liners and one I have attended only the once. The tight liner pattern the yellow jc does well on this water and the new club record was caught here by Bobo a 10ld 11oz. blue on an olive growler picture in general chat page. On the tight liner trip three doubles were caught before nine am including the best Bow of the season. This was my first visit to Swanswater and it is what you might call a rather well attended venue but if you ever attend you will know why. It is a first class venue with some spectacular sport as the water is well stocked. Ok my day was a day of the fish win I lose but at least I was in to fish, started off dropping a rather nice bow on the second cast yellow jc then later on took my first and only fish of the day a cracking brown trout yellow jc 2. (returned) My next take was something special the fish ran towards me and never even came up it then made a dash for the bridge on the Island and as I tried to turn it got off. Fished the rest of the day with no success in landing them but was on to fish on another six occasions that’s entertainment. Well worth a visit at £23 for five fish on a eight hour session ticket. www.swanswater-fishery.co.uk/ falkirktightlines.bravehost.com/

SWANSWATER FISHERY
Fishing Report – 21.01.07-27.01.07
The more settled weather seems to have resulted in big fish moving around and getting caught. 4 double figure Rainbows were taken this week along with a Rainbow and a Blue around 8lb and a couple of 5lb Rainbows. The fish have been moving around the water and various “hotspots” were in evidence during the week. Some days the far bay and bridge area were doing well and at other times the front of the island and the roadside were the favourites. Slight changes in water temperature seem to determine the location of the fish but they are not always in the expected places. Bloodworm and Cormorant were taking a lot of fish this week in addition to the usual favourites – Damsel, Dancer and Cat’s Whisker. Small black or black and green lures were also working well, especially on the small ponds.

SWANSWATER FISHERY
Fishing Report – 28.01.07-03.02.07
The biggest fish to come out of Swanswater for almost 4 years, a 17lb 4oz Rainbow, was landed on Saturday by Dave Cormack from Perth. The monster was caught in the far bay and took a Yellow Dancer. One other double figure rainbow and another just under the 10lb mark were also landed this week. Fish were being taken all round the water especially earlier in the week. On the milder days the channel in front of the island was particularly productive but as the temperature dropped towards the end of the week, the fish moved into the main area. Bloodworm, Yellow Dancer, Damsel and Cormorant were amongst this week's favourite flies.
