Loch ArdThe water was flat calm and bright Sunshine early doors but picked up mid day with overcast and slight ripple on the water that went to rolling waves. Good job I purchased a drogue they are brilliant in these conditions. The drifts started to produce catches of Perch but no Brown trout were caught until later in the day and they were not many of them to to be precise. Caught on PTN and Gold head Ace Spades. First time I have fished this water so a bit of homework required here as it is wild fish with one brown trout stocking a year early March. Can’t give price for fishing or boat prices as I was there with old Jimmy and his cane rod on a club water I joined this year. There are numerous boats dotted along the loch and you should be able to get information in Aberfoyle or Calendar about Permits and boat hire details. Catch rate was high on the Perch side so plenty of sport to be had, A fantastic looking loch, with spectacular views. Recommended extras outboard, drouge, seat and life jacket.
