Jock, A lot of the beats on the Earn have already finished for grayling this season. Sandy at Kinkell Bridge opened for a few extra days and we managed to get it for Saturday but the weather beat us. Better to check first if it's available. Fishtay now showing the river under 3 feet, ideal for grayling

Sandy the ghillie at Kinkell is great pals with Jim Doyle on the FFF and I think it's through Jim that the day has been organised. Might manage up with Josh waiting to hear about lift.

Sounds good, probably the last chance to fish the grayling this season-thought it was already finished;levels might be a bit dodgy though as i think its up a wee bit at the moment an looks like more rain over the next couple o days, good luck if ye make it;im a wee bit jealous.

Been looking at the Fish Tay website and it was showing the river at six feet yesterday afternoon but this morning at 6 am it's down to three feet so hopefully will be able to get some fishing in. Also some sea trout been caught on Kinkell so we may able to go after them as well, not sure of the arrangements. Doesn't appear to be many folk going so may be some places if anybody fancies it. Think both Jock and I at least are members of FFF.

When we got to Kinkell Bridge the river was about 4 feet but running very fast. There were only five of us from the forum went and there were three guys fishing for salmon. Sandy had us fishing the bottom of the beat in the morning and the top after lunch. Was a real struggle and no one managed to catch, i lost one but was still worth a fiver. We were trying with the fly and trotting with sweetcorn. Hoping to go up in April/May for day with the forum guys after the broonies. Still better than sitting in the house or being dragged round the shops. shanksi
