BLACK ANOREXIC BUZZERThis is a most simple buzzer to make and again is one of my favourite patterns used many times. Nothing more than BLACK UTC Thread Grade 70 on a Hook. But it is important that you make these on very small hooks as well down to size 14. Since the majority of insects found in there stomach are very small insects indeed. Now since the Hook is so small and light you must use a thin tippet with these. down to 3lb (And always use Flourocarbon) when fishing buzzers as this material can cut through the water tention layer better that other nylon leader tippets. but even then I smear some "Sink it" or Fullers Earth to aid it sink. and it does not matter if you are using 3lb Tippet to bring in a 15lb Rainbow.just play it longer and never hurry buzzer fishing anyway. it is a very tiny hook in a vast ocean of water out there so give the hook plenty plenty time to sink to depth and Wait! Wait! Wait is the Golden Word to make or break your catch rate. But never be Disillusioned by using very small hooks. there are many anglers who do think the fish " Will Never See it " this is totally untrue. Although you can use Gold Hooks for this pattern, but from experience and catch rate statistics the Silver or rather Nickle hooks are always better. Kamasan B100N (Nickle Silver) Sizes 10/12 & 14 Black UTC Thread Grade 70 Don't make the Thorax Large keep proportion size same as in per Photo. And you won't go wrong!

That Black Anorexic Buzzer in that particular picture is actually wrongly dressed. as you can see if you look at the Black thread as it leaves the Black Thorax Build. you can see that the thread has laid on the hook in a flat fashion. this is because you are turning it in a Clockwise direction. and because the thread on your bobbin spool has a twist in the thread. and as it's turned clockwise it comes onto the hook shank flat!
So when I make these now. I start at the Hook (Bend) with the Black Thread just tacked on with Super Glue and start my Black Thead Ribbing onward to the hook eye. in a Anti-Clockwise direction which makes the Black Thread keep a round form rather than splaying out flat as you make every turn. but once i make those anti-clockwise turns to behind the hook eye. then I simply put a tiny smear of super glue on the thread to hold it at the Thorax and then start turning clockwise again to build the Thorax. that makes things more easy and quicker. But I ensure that I never make a large Thorax (Keep it moderately thin as well)
This Particular patterns has been doing remarkably well at Clerklands Fishery, which no doubt "Wullie" the Proprietor would confirm it's killer tendancies. but even then he say's that the size 14 is even better.
