This is looking like a good series! Do we need to wait until next week until you put the thread on?

a black and peacock spider with copper rib the webcams not the best for doing this jock....may have to rethink this this was my second attempt ...and i still broke the thread 3 times finished....looks nothing like the picture i've got..(the black and white photocopy) Tying Instructions Take the tying thread down the hook shank to a point opposite the barb building up a tapered body as you go. Catch in a length of gold wire Catch in 3 pieces of Peacock Herl Wind the peacock herl towards the eye, leaving enough room for the hackle and head. Wind the gold wire towards the eye (opposite direction to the herl) and tie off Catch in a black hen hackle and wind two or three times Build up a neat head Whip finish and varnish.

Looks like your hackle is too big Mike but don’t worry about that, That fly will catch, gink it up and use as a dry or try it on the top dropper in a wave, let it flow round with the current and bring in slow and be ready for a take. The bigger hackles are on bob flies anyway bud. Try taking off smaller hackles and bend so they are about the same as the hook shank the u bit. Keep going Mike it’s worth the effort and for some reason you are liable to take a right few on the patterns you are tying. Tight lines, may the bobbin be with you.
