Illegal Natural Hair Flies

but honestly.... flies tied with deer hair. badger etc may be deemed illegal unless you have a licence.....this is through new legislation from the Scottish excutive....the story focuses on sporrans but does mention flies as having the potential of falling into the catchment area so i better hide my muddlers and my shaving brush (badger hair)

A Scottish Executive spokeswoman said the new rules had been put in place to bring Scotland into line with existing European legislation designed to protect vulnerable species.

As usual the papers don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. Have copied this from another forum

All species of bat, Large Blue Butterfly, Wild Cat, Dormouse, Sand lizard, Great Crested Newt, Otter, Smooth Snake, Sturgeon, Natterjack Toad,Marine Turtles and all species of whale dolphine and porpoise."
