Following the heavy rains in the run up to xmas and the susequent flooding the carron is in a bit of a mess,some previously existing pools arent there any more-most noteably the Mill pool at headswood which is now just a run,the motorway bridge at denovan road has been badly undercut and could pose a danger to the stabillity of the bridge-the concrete footpath under the bridge is floating on air at some points having been undercut by about five feet and could even pose a danger to those walking on it!there are also 17 large trees at various points on the river blocking the flow but due to there size wont be easy to remove-will need heavy duty chainsaw and mechanical removal;its also highly likely that all salmon and trout eggs laid will have been swept downstream and out into the forth with a bad prognosis for fishing over the coming next few years-also likely that a lot of the resident fish will have been lost too.
