i think i might be going for a we fishing jont on friday, i was thinking about going doon the river carron, or give the union or the forth and clyde canal a shot, as my cuzin wants to take his we boy fishing for the first time, so any good places on the canal or just stick to the carron

The canal is ABSOLUTLEY TEEMING with roach at the moment! Also some perch and very (very) small pike. If the sun is out you will see them at the surface. Me and my daughter tried to catch them with sweetcorn, but they weren't interested. Whether it was the heat or our "rivercraft"(!), I wouldn't like to say. Good fun though.

better luck next time.have you tried spinning for pike?it can be good even catching the little jack pike.but remember to use a steel leader.
