Went out today to check the path at the viaduct and found the River Carron to be devastated by the flood. Looks like the egg beds and small fish have been swept away and the runs on the river have been changed by the flow off the water in some parts. Will do a more intense report at the weekend along with Mij and post here and on the web site. It has to be said the good work the Bailiff's and Head bailiff Paul have done over the years could have been wiped out with this flood. Last years picture and this today at the dam gives you a idea of the damage. The banking is also corroded and intensive work by some of the Falkirk tight line path experts will be required just to fix the fisherman's path at the Viaduct, but the real damage to the river and its banks along with the terrestrial fly life will take time to recover from this blow. The River needs volunteers to help with work on the river and anyone interested should contact me by PM and I will pass you on to Paul via his telephone number.

The missing of rubbish in pics is by chance but the bankings including trees and bushes are in a terrible state with rubbish, a bit of a disgrace actually this is still due to dumb dumpers, pity we can not catch these morons in the act.
Permit next year is £42 for a season and £6 a day with concessions for OAP's and children. Jack McWatt fishing tackle shop Carron and Newspaper shop next to hairdressers Larbert main street.
